Recently, I attended a conference after a long time and was shocked to see that practically all the speakers except one made very poor presentations. Their message was not clear. The slides were atrocious. In fact, one gentleman had made the research paper as slides. He had just copied pages of research paper on the slides. A number of people commented on the poor quality of the presentations and slides. In fact, one presenter’s slide were not even readable. What was surprising was that all the presenters were CEOs and senior executives of companies.
The poor presentations had an adverse impact on the reputation and credibility of the speakers and their organizations. To avoid such situations, we have developed a special program to assist CEOs and senior executive of companies to become better presenters. This program is an exclusive "one-on-one" half-day program. This program is ideal for senior executives of companies who are interested in improving their presentation skills for delivering speeches both internally and externally in any communication situation.
Apart from understanding the basic elements of developing a convincing STORY, the senior executive will be given a presentation assignment. He/she will be given 1 hour to prepare a presentation on a topic(s) agreed upon. He/She will have to prepare an outline on a single transparency and then make his presentation extempore with the help of this one transparency. The presentation will be video taped and later reviewed by the senior executive himself to learn from the experience.
Program Details
Step 1
Senior executive will be given the book titled “80/20 rules of communicating ideas effectively” to read.
Step 2
One-on-one half day session which will include the following:
- Review of the concept of developing a convincing STORY
- Preparation of presentation on a agreed upon topic including the following:
- Selecting a theme and title
- Developing an outline
- Delivering the presentation extempore
- Critical self review of the video taped presentation
